Unable to fast forward with Winamp

Postby Nightah » Thu Feb 23, 2012 12:15 am

I'm using the External player with playlist option and when attempting to fast forward from Winamp the player just stops playing the track.
However I can start another song or the same it'll restart from the start, it's a little odd because when I look in the logs I can see this for example:

[2/22/12 11:48:18 PM GMT] INFO StreamController Got range: Range[2890008,9223372036854775807]

However as soon as the seek bar is moved or the arrows are used to seek through a currently active playing song in Winamp it stops playing alltogether.

Version 4.6 (build 2583) – December 6, 2011
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_07, FreeBSD
Player Winamp v5.623 (WinampMPEG/5.62, Ultravox/2.1)

Sindre is aware of of the problem and it will be fixed on the next update.
You need to add map_meta_data 0:0 to the transcoding string

Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i %s -ab %bk -v 0 -f mp3 -map_meta_data 0:0 -

Well it works for me

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

It doesn't look like the map_meta_data transcode string worked for me unfortunately.
It appears to still have the same behaviour :(. I guess I'll have to wait for the next release then.
