Error in Subsonic screws up webpage and iphone app

Subsonic is unstable when reading filenames and directories which contain french, german, italian, spanish etc songs.
If these filenames contain ï â ä ç é ú etc etc (in fact all of these special characters)
The curious thing is Subsonic does allow these characters if they occur in the MP3-Tag instead of the directory or filename.
Also very well known songwriters have these characters in filenames.
Example attached with filenames.
The effect is unpredictable, sometimes the whole visual is skrewed up displaying this in Subsonic or the iSub app.
The developer of the iSub app explained subsonic is generating the error in the App.
Can this be fixed in Subsonic please ???

Check out
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8965#p37416The filenames match the tags.
I am not sure if I have any files in my library that contain the particular characters that you highlight
but something odd is going on
I see a windows explorer gui are you running SS under windows?

I am running Subsonic under Linux.
Subsonic under linux does not support filenames which are generated by Windows.
So the problem is non UTF-8 are not supported.

Exactly like in the other post i changed /usr/share/subsonic/subsonic.sh
/etc/init.d/subsonic stop
After the line:
SUBSONIC_DEFAULT_PLAYLIST_FOLDER=/var/playlists
i added
export LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
export LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
/etc/init.d/subsonic start
No errors
Damn, no solution, files still show up incorrectly, maybe i need another LANG and LC_TYPE
The files are OK when i view them on a any windows PC.

Did you notice
I had also to change the default music folder and then changed it back to the normal default music folder then it works for me.
Which probably refreshes all the cache's

I changed the complete music directory.
Under "Settings" -> "Media Folder" i changed the directory to be able to find the music again
No cure...
