no results found?

Hello All,

I just installed subsonic and I wonder where the database countaining my library information is located.
I can see my folders listed on the left of my browser and everything seems to be in it...but i can't make any search.
If i search for an artist name for example, I just get a "nothing found" answer...

Is it possible my collection is still indexing the track titles, artists names, etc? will it show up after the scan will be completed?
how long does it actually takes to scan an entire library? do anyone have an idea of the diskspace/indexing ratio ?

I can't figure out where this data is written because no file seems to be a db in the subsonic folder i created for the install...
at the moment my subsonic works great...but without search function it's some kind of a pain in the *** to find artists, albums and genres easily.

thank you for your answers!

Mea

Have you updated your search index - settings/search ?

hey! thanks for such a fast answer !

I just saw this option was available from the search menu in the web interface's settings.
BUT, do I have to do that even if I just configured my music folder(s) ?
By the way, I just read that SS didn't seem to read the id3vx tags ?
I dont use any ARTIST\ALBUM\ structure for my folders... I have folders named like this "artist_-_album_name".
do this mean I will never be able to search my library? is there no way to make SS index my files using the id3v2 tags ???
the ideal way would be to have a "real" database file like foobar2000does for example with the possibility to switch between id3v2 and "folder structure" modes.
