Winamp Quirks

hi there...

1st let me say what an amazing piece of software subsonic is. elegant and functional. all of my friends are jealous.

however im running into some strange behavior in winamp 5.35 id like to eliminate. clicking on a song functions correctly. winamp opens and the song streams. the problem begins if i click another song while the first is playing. often, but not always winamp doesnt play the song but instead displays:

play(x)

where x is a number increasing with every failed attempt to stream.

restarting winamp sometimes solves the problem temporarily, but the increasing integer x comes back, where it was. and sometimes clicking the link repeatedly will eventually play the stream.

The web player always works fine.

anyone have any idea what is causing this? OS is vista Premium.

I've been using Winamp with Subsonic for many years, but never seen this. (Haven't used it on Vista, though).

Does it happen with the new Winamp 5.5 as well?

Cheers,
Sindre

Hi Sindre, thanks for the response. I uninstalled 5.35 and installed 5.5 and so far no problems. Maybe the updated version fixed it...Im guessing that something just got corrupted and the re-install set things right.

150gb of music online, and another 75 to be added next week. Everyone I show this to has more music they want to add!

Thanks again. Hit me if you want any music!
