Subsonic Forum

Hello. I recently discovered Subsonic as I looked for a decent powerful way to store and listen to my media everywhere. I do have a question regarding the Remote Control.

As far as I understand, I can have my server where all my music is, be labeled as a jukebox. And then I can control this jukebox from another computer or App.
My server is in the basement where no one really frequents and there are no speakers attached to this machine. Could I have a second computer, connected to speakers, stationed in the living room and have the server stream music to it. And then could I have a third computer remote control the songs/volume etc. that the second computer is playing?

Yes you could do it but you will need to install SS on the media player pc rather then the server.
This will work ok with the usual caveats of network speed and file sharing comparabilities.

Alright, so I would just have the media player look for the music on the server.
