changed from running as root, can't access my media folder

I just changed subsonic from running as the root user to running as a user called 'subsonic'.

I followed these directions: http://unlockforus.com/installing-subso ... cid-lynx-2
except I had already installed subsonic and had been running it for a while.

I see no errors reported but once I restarted subsonic I have lost all my music files. I've gone into the media folder settings and I see that the correct media folder is listed, I've checked that the 'subsonic' user has read/write/execute permissions for this and children directories, and I've hit 'scan' for new media, but it isn't listening anything in my media folder.

As a test I made a symbolic link to that exact same directory [/media/media_drive/music] as /media/media_drive/blah/ and pointed to that in the subsonic UI. In this case it does find my music, so it seems like subsonic is storing the permissions or something in the database? Any ideas what to do?

I guess I could just erase my database but, if there is another way to do it I'd like to do that :)

btw, i'm using the new beta: 4.7.beta2 (build 3011) – June 8, 2012

I ended up just erasing my database and starting from scratch with new logins and what not.. Solved it but not a very nice solution.
