Hello there.

I am unable to listen to my wma files in my music library.

I have managed to set up all the relevant components on my android phone and pc to access my music folder on the synology nas ds212+. I am only able to listen to the few mp3 tracks that I have.... Most of my albums have been saved as wma files and I am unable to access them through subsonic on both my pc or android device.

Please help

Pac

If you're having trouble with the networking part, just wait till you get to the transcoding part!

You say you can't access you wma files. Do you mean that you can see them but they won't play or that the folders they're in just don't show up in the music display in the left column?

OS and installation type are very helpful if you provide them.

Os - Windows 7 - Installation type unsure ??

I am able to see all my folders on both pc and android device therefore the accessing the folders bit is done and operational.

When I come to play the track it simply doesn't play....mp3 works fine, but wma will not transcode ( if that is the correect terminology :)) ! )

Many Thanks

OK - try this.

Download this file and place it in "C:\subsonic\transcode"

https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=A ... 0A32A0!233

This file is just a different version of ffmpeg that has been renamed "Audiffmpeg"

Once the file is in the directory go to "Settings/Network"

The first entry is the mp3 audio line. Just change it to read : Audioffmpeg -i %s -ab %bk -v 0 -f mp3 -

This just instructs Subsonic to use the new version of ffmpeg to do the transcode.

Let me know if this fixes it for you.

Cheers.

Can you send me a link over PM to a file that isn't working? Also, have you modified the transcoding string at all?

What does send me a link over Pm mean ??

Let me see if I can be a bit more technical at this late stage of the day ....

It would seem the problem lies in the 1152 kpbs wma > mp3 conversion if that is of help ??

My bad. I wanted you to send me a known bad wma file to see what it did on my system. We usually do this by using dropbox or skydrive to dump a file into a public share that can be downloaded by someone else. Once the file is in your public drive you generate a link to it that you can send to the other party so that they can download the file.

This was how I sent "Audioffmpeg.exe" to you.

Your PM said you fixed the problem. Glad to hear it. Let us know if you need anything else.

Cheers.

I just tested the files you sent and they are not playing on my system either, but they do play in VLC. They might require a different transcoding setup, perhaps going back to first transcoding to wav and then using lame to transcode to mp3.

Are there any possible DRM issues here?
