Lunia 710 on Mango - Connection Failed: Data not in XML

Postby Boffin_Boxer » Thu Jun 21, 2012 7:04 pm

Hi Guys,

This is my first post because this is my first real problem, so many thanks in advance to any help you can give.

Some background info:

Have been using SS (Full Donated) on SBS 2011 on my home network for about a year now. I have been using it internally and externally on a both IOS and android with no issues.

So I upgraded my phone from a crappy HTC Wildfire S to a Nokia Lumia 710 on Windows mobile Mango 7.5 Today. I have bought the Henry van Zuylen version of subsonic from the marketplace (this is in fact the only subsonic streamer I could find). I have setup my connection within the App as per My IOS (Ipod) and android tablets but when I test the connection I get an error... Connection Failed: Data not in XML

Completely baffled as to why this is. I have a DynDNS name that is cliented via my router, I have a subsonic sub domain DNS also. I have tried the connection via SS DNS name, DynDNS, internal IP and external IP and all return the same error yet IOS and android are fine. I have rebooted the router, restarted the SS services and rebooted the SBS box, all to no avail.

It is a standard SS server install and has no mods installed.

Please point me in the right direction.

Disabling https seems to have cured the problem. :D :D :D :D

I've asked the author of the app to include https support in there. He said the app is still under (slow) development, so who knows...
Out of curiosity. Was your ssl/https certificate trusted or not? Making it trusted could potentially solve the issue. But I had no time to try it yet.
