get jwplayer to cache when not playing

Hi there!

I primarily use Subsonic for watching videos at work, which is awesome! Love the customizations!

I was wondering if there was a setting to have the JWPlayer cache the movie so if I pause it, it will continue to download it and I can then "seek" through the movie if I want to, rather than just using the drop down box?

That also leads me to another question, is there a way to customize how that dropdown box works? For instance, have it do :30 instead of 1:00 increments? Thanks for the help!

update your jwplayer to 5.10 from the site (right click in the player and choose the about option which will take you to the site), download the current player version, open the zip file, then replace the jw-player in your \subsonic\jetty\####\webapp\flash folder with the player.swf from the zip.

stop and start the service for good measure and clear your browser cache for good measure and see if that works any better

keep in mind since the stream is real time, you wont be able to seek ahead from where the real time stream is currently at, but if you leave it paused then when it finishes. but it works much better than the one that was included with subsonic 4.6 (i use it for the same as you do and this updated player works much better so far tonight since i did the update a few hours ago)

Got it!! Thank you! I'm testing it now - had a bit of an issue with the player working until I basically renamed the new player the same name as the old player, but its working fine now and showing as 5.10. Thanks for the tips!!
