Subsonic Forum

Hello,
I'm currently using Subsonic 4.6 installed from the WAR file. What's the appropriate way to upgrade to the current beta release?

My main concern is retaining my podcast information.

I'd just like to recommend making a backup of your subsonic settings folder (where the database etc is stored). Some people have had it corrupted while upgrading to the beta release.

I agree with hakko. Make a backup of your subsonic setting directory (c:\subsonic by default in Windows) and then follow the instructions on the download page:

• Stop Tomcat if it's running.
• Remove these files and directories if they exist:
  TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/subsonic.war
  TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/subsonic
  TOMCAT_HOME/work
• Copy the file subsonic.war to TOMCAT_HOME/webapps.
• Start Tomcat.

Actually, I would probably make the settings directory backup AFTER stopping Tomcat.
