Subsonic Forum

I am using the subsonic app for android on a galaxy nexus and have bad stuttering issues

It happened on my thunderbolt phone as well but not as bad. On the nexus it happens almost every song

Is this a known problem? Any way to fix it?

Isn't the Nexus running ICS? If so, we know that the app needs to be updated for ICS and is scheduled to be addressed as soon as the 4.7 update is finalized. There are posts here in the forum tegatding mods that others have done to find work around until then.

I'm having the same annoying issue! So what are those work arounds, link? Also, why does my Subsonic look so much different than his? Mine is still the same old one, even on a fresh download....

So besides the horrible studdering on even cached songs (that play fine on other players), I am having serious problems when using the app... When I go to my playlists tab for example, most of the time I will get "A network issue has occurred" and it will unsuccessfully retry. But if I flip to another tab (like library tab) and then right back, it will access it fine. This happens to the media library tab too.

Honestly, I've been using and suggesting Subsonic for years, but now it has become completely unusable, especially with the constant studdering of the songs.

Watching a YouTube video of someone displaying a very similar studdering problem showed a different look of the Subsonic app than I've seen, yet a fresh download yesterday of Subsonic and I still have the old looking app. Any ideas?

Using a Galaxy Nexus....

This seems to be a Galaxy Nexus issue..my Sensation running ICS, as well as my Galaxy S3 does NOT have these issues.

This is due to an I/O scheduling issue with the stock Galaxy Nexus kernel. You can resolve the issue by installing an alternative kernel. See my post here for more info:

I posted in the other thread you linked to, thanks!. Quickly, I'm not running the stock kernel, but will look into the kernel being the issue.

Also, what version of the Subsonic app is that guy using on the Youtube link? Mine still looks old school...
