Hello Together

Ok, so my question is, can i setup the subsonic server on my web space?

my server, hostet by "hostsar.ch" includes follow services:

SSL-Zertifikate
PHP4 + PHP5
MySQL
PERL
XML
CronJobs
SSI
Mod-rewrite (.htaccess) Support
Php-ini Support
Own CGI-BIN directory
FrontPage 2002/XP
and some other functions..

so is it possible to install my own subsonoic server directly on this webserver, which is configured with my own domain name!?

regards
Splash

No, you need a host that offers Apache/Java support. Subsonic does not run on Apache/PHP, it is simply not the same architechture.

You'll need a VPS with a proper login shell so that you can install the right packages,
or just use a webhost that supports it out of the box.
There are thousands of companies offering that out there. Just keep a close tab on your bandwidth allowance.

I believe the Subsonic website has two "officially endorsed" hosts. Take a look at them:
