How to index homemade records?

so here's another big question i encountered while messing around with subsonic
I have a lot of homemade audio and also video records. but i have no clue, how to index them, so that subsonic lists the files with the corresponding Tags like Album, Title, Artist, and so on.
Any help how i can realize that??
