Animated GIF Avatars on Subsonic page

The site supports .GIF files as avatars, but they just doesn't animate. I don't really understand why they don't work, as the subsonic page is just a webpage. Ani-GIFs are certainly supported in all web browsers. Anyway, it's obviously no big deal, but it would be cool if it worked.
