Expand on jukebox mode and the players concept

Playing around with airfoil I thought how great it would be if this type of functionality was built into subsonic.What I would love being able to do is control a random player from another device acting as a remote. This would open up many possibilities for subsonic.

* Connecting an old mobile device to a set of speakers and controlling it with another mobile device sort of a homebrew airplay kit.

* Accessing a main server remotely over the internet and controlling it from a mobile device.

* Controlling a potential boxee box/xmbc/appletv/google tv app from a mobile device or main computer.

The above shouldn't be too hard with additions and tweaks to the rest api, and android application (which really needs a remote mode like isub 3.0 btw). All you'd really need is a dumb player application that is controlled by another player, kind of how jukebox mode works now.

This can be expanded upon in future revisions to do thinks like:

* Multiroom sound, once synchronization is worked out.

* a sharing mode, where two people can listen to the same thing at the same time on different devices

* Party mode where everyone can use there mobile device to manipulate a shared playlist that either A. plays throughout the venue, or B. plays back on all their devices, like a radio station.

* Radio mode, where users can login and select a player thats admin controlled, and the admin can play dj

Nothing against video but I'm way more interested in these type of features than transcoding/streaming on the fly. There are already plenty of ways to do that...

I was just speaking of this with a friend, We both had a party going on at our respective houses, I have the subsonic server, and he was logged on as well, we were texting back and forth as to which song to play. One of these options above would be awesome......allowing both users to add to the playlist, but the playlist expanding on each others listening device, just like a jukebox in a tavern with multiple people adding songs and everyone hearing them. Maybe an admin setting where you can only allow 1, 2 5,etc... songs added by one user at a time, or until anothe user does the same.
