Hello,
I just noticed, that the tray-icon app takes A LOT of memory. This seems to be independent from the service running or not. Is there a reason for this? Might it be possible to reduce the usage?

really tho that is mostly the entire answer, java is memory heavy, its a trade off to being compatible on any OS. You can reduce the memory it is allowed to use, but at some point you are gonna start getting OutofMemory exceptions
