Play media on Subsonic server from remote machine

I would like to be able to see the media on my subsonic server from another machine on the network (via ip or something) and send a command from the remote machine to the server to play the file on the server. I.e. the remote machine acts a controller of the server, for the server to play the file.

Is this possible with Subsonic? I would really like this functionality. If not, can anyone suggest another approach.
