Remotely controlling a player

Here's a use case with some features I suspect others would like as well:

In my living room I used to have a Squeezebox, but now I've sort of replaced it with a small and cheap Netbook. In many ways it is better, because the screen can be more informative, and it is fairly easy for guests to go and check out the music and add a few songs.

However, I miss being able to remote control the music. For one thing, I'd like to be able to use my Android phone to remotely control the Netbook.
My first wish would be able to do just Previous, Next, Pause and Play.

Next, I'd like to sit in my sofa and use my Android phone to browse my music collection and select a few songs, and then submit that to the playlist thats being played by the Living room Netbook.

Even better would be if guests could use their phones to submit their songs!

This is the only thing missing from the Subsonic experience for me. I can control my Subsonic server (also my HTPC) from my netbook, but I would much prefer to remote control from the Android app. I can do it in the browser, but it's a pain.

I'm using gsremote when I'm listening to groovshark in my living room it's very very usefull, just need to be on the same wifi network and had installed the gsremote extension for google chrome or mozilla.

I have my subsonic server on a fileserver. I play the songs from either my Media Center (Windows 7 pc) or my Iconia A500 tablet (dock with audio out to receiver). Remote control only works where the subsonic server is installed and that machine has no speakers.

I would love to see the option to:

A) Control the web player on the windows machine using any other player (mobile, web, android app, ios app)

B) Control the android client from any other player

C) Other people might want that for the IOS player as well

If you could map user A's player to user B's player (maybe adding a security option for allowing that for certain users), wouldn't that work?
