Indicate VBR encoded files?

Postby Coupey » Wed Jun 14, 2006 3:01 pm

I use subsonic to stream music to me from home while I'm at work, at a fairly modest 80kbps. This works great apart from the occasional track which is encoded with a variable bitrate and can't be resampled.

Is is possible to indicate in the playlist which tracks can't be resampled, or even to have an option to exclude or skip them altogether for certain players?

Sure!
I'll include options to display bitrate, album, artist, year, genre, format etc in the playlist (and maybe also the main browser window).

I'm a bit more reluctant to implementing automatic exclusion of VBR, however, as I feel it's a bit too "custom".

Update:
Subsonic 2.8 will support resampling of VBR files.
