Bugs found please fix! First off I do NOT like the video transcoder and the format it is using. However turning it off isn’t possible as raw uncompressed streams do not work even on a local network as they skip and jerk.
1. Please fix the skipping and jerking on transcoder streams but mainly on streams that aren’t using the transcoding such as MP4 video files, although they both need serious improvements.
2. Using an external video player isn’t working properly I noticed it on transcoding streams and non-transcoded streams.
3. Make sure that the video has fluid motion which is part of the request #1 but to take it further I want it to give fluid video at 1920x1080, which is full HD. I would prefer to work well WITHOUT using the transcoder under the MP4 format. There is no reason this cannot be accomplished since it does not require any software and would not have any affect for those who choose to use the transcoder.
4. Tried using the external playback option without the transcoder and would not work, even using only the local network. Using with the transcoder gave a poor picture as only lower bitrates would work, even on a local network. I tried external playback with Windows Media Player and VLC Player it was an epic fail.
5. I like the imbedded jwplayer since it uses mp4 natively but improvements in a transcoded and non-transcoded streams need serious improvements. I’m literally sitting here waiting for these improvements and hope I see them soon, Thanks!
P.S. The reason I don’t like realtime transcoded streams is for 2 reasons and the first reason the picture isn’t has clear as it can be. If I were to run a stream that are transcoded and a non-transcoded stream at the same bitrate the transcoded stream seems kind of foggy, grainy, and not nearly as crisp whereas the non-transcoded stream is sharper with a better contrast. I can control the bitrate by converting the file itself. Although this may require more effort on my part to convert the file myself it still yields much better results. An adtional reason is it creates an unneeded extra on my processor, granted I'm using a 1090t however that isn't the point. my findings are based on v4.6 beta 1.
UPDATE: I notice that Subsonic v4.6 beta 1 has issues playing the full song when using the subsonic android app!
