Well my request:

When you share right now you have your IP in your URL - especially kinda uncool when you share on Facebook.

Solution:
Many of us have a (free) DynDns etc. Account which points to the IP.
Make in the admin control panel a field like:
"Your own Hostname"
where you can enter ANY hosstname: example.dyndns.org, blabla.ath.cx, example.com and so on.
Then when you build the links you just take this hostname instead of the IP Adress for the URL.

You could even validiate if the correct hostname was entered, by just pinging (or something like that) the IP -> but for me this wouldn't even be necessary.

I don't know about Small and easy to implement, but I will agree this is useful. I don't use the share option much because I don't want to expose my IP address to the world wide hacker web. The subsonic.org address if fine with me (and even pretty neat), but having the link just redirect to the IP:Port isn't. A proxy server is really more what I have in mind.

Though I would agree that if the user has a DNS service they want to use, that may be a good override for the default sharing capability.
