I agree. I too prefer the External Player w/Playlist for my users by default. Although, it seems that most people prefer the Web Player.
Issue 1: Selectable "Default Player" linked to User AccountI would like the option to Force my Users to use External Player w/ Playlist, instead of the Web Player.
Once I set a user up with an "
External Player w/ Playlist", everything works as intended, until they login on a
different machine. Then they receive a new incrementally numbered Player that defaults to the "Web Player", ignoring the configured Player I intended the User to be presented with.
I'm assuming that since the User's Web Player had been deleted by the Admin, the system "creates" a new "Default" Web Player
I was hoping that the Existing Configured Player was linked to the User account rather than generate a new default Web Player with an incremented number.
Issue 2: Freezing Stream-Limited MP3 Stream on Web Player OnlyTo conserve Bandwidth, I have created a "Guest" account that
limits the MP3 stream to 56k, has no access to Settings and would be presented with a Administratively preconfigured Player. (External)
When using the Web Player, the stream often stops playing after 30 seconds or so.
However,
when the Stream Limit is "Unlimited" I have no issues with stoppages using Web Player.
Anyone have any ideas how to:
1. Change to a Selectable "Default" Player from Web to External w/Playlist?
2. Modify the Stream Limit without creating random Web Player stoppages?
I'm wondering if these are issues limited to the Beta?
