Server Move Function

Postby WildWalker » Wed Jul 11, 2012 11:45 am

Hello all,

I have had to move my Subsonic a couple of times over the years (guess I have been using it 3 ish years now) and after having a major IT upgarde I have had to move servers. Both times I pretty much lost all the Subsonic settings. I don't mind recreating users, but what really annoyed me is that I lost all the album ratings, most played, most recent, number of plays on albums etc.

What would be nice is a little function in Subsonic that lets you package up your current install ready for a move, then upon restore you are aksed for the new media locations.

Thanks for listening.
Alan.

If you're on Windows, you can just copy C:\subsonic onto your new computer before installing and all users/settings/stats will be kept. The same applies for other platforms of course.

Did you put your music in the exact same path on your new machine?
