share database between OSes

hello,
i dual boot between linux and windows. I'd love for a way to share the database between the two, so that it's not constantly rescanned.

i understand that linux and windows have different file/path naming conventions but this could be overcome by specifying a starting root path and having entries relative to that.
Then again maybe my use case isn't all that common!
