I really love and use Subsonic - I have not found a better suited solution for accessing my music library anywhere. My next project is a carputer, and imagine a subsonic server on it that plays the audio on the server end - connected to car audio system. The playlist could be managed by anyone bothering to connect to the local wireless network of the carputer
If the player is a specific player, or associated to a specific user, it would still be possible to use several clients in the solution at any one time.
