Hello,
To date, I run Subsonic for years, since 2011.
I've always been very happy with it. Over the years I've had some bumps in the road now and then. Some can cost quite some time.
One of the most important ones are the settings. Could it be easier to back them up?
At the moment we have the subsonic.script in the C:\subsonic folder. This contains the SQL inserts for users, players and some more things. This already works.
Wouldn't it be useful to have the scanned music in addition to that as a file to back it up? Combined with an import function, it would be perfect.
The hickups with the current method;
- On a fresh Subsonic install, not all tables are empty (the 'admin' user always exists, and there's one empty default music folder), this makes it a little harder to revert a backup, as you have to truncate the old tables.
- Starred files, playcounts and playlists are always deleted as they are tied to media_file_id's which are not included in the subsonic.script file
In years of running a (Subsonic) server, it has occurred a couple of times I had to reinstall. This would really make it a breeze.
