The embed DB has issues with large collections.

For large collections you'll need to use a proper DB solution like PostGreSQL or MariaDB/MySQL
Since I switched to PostGreSQL I've not had any stability issues (> 2 years).

Herein are my issues, will switching to that PostGreSQL solve any/all of them ???

Ok, ok, so a year later, plenty of time to be calm and shit, been charged automatically my "renewal" fee, and STILL NO RESPONSE to my concerns of ANY post here in the forums regarding bugs, NOR any help in trying to figure out any of the issues - so they are CLEARLY bugs - which have neither been acknowledged nor rectified.

IT, the Android App, may find in a search what I am looking for, but, does NOTHING when I click/choose anything from the findings. WTF?

In "Library" mode, IT still does not list the library {contents of the folder with the songs} in one coherent string/list alphabetically from A-Z, IT does still show the list in multiple strings of A-Z ... VERY FUCKING ANNOYING.

And now for the "Album Art" issue. STILL NOT working properly. STILL the very same it was, a fucking YEAR ago. When a song is playing, the EMBEDDED ART of THAT song should be showing. ***HINT to ALL *** The Embedded ART of any song might/can/will BE DIFFERENT from the Album Art of the ALBUM !!!***

Otherwise, this is a fine App, really love it.

But it scans at a very low speed in comparison :(

I was toying with switching to MariaDB myself but frankly, with my limited skills the stability was even worse...
Plus the lack of data migration path discouraged me from trying any further.

Why, for the love of GOD, and all that is Holy, is there NEVER a reply to ANY Feature request or Bug report on this product by the Actual Developer(s) ???

I don't know if there is more than one developer (I doubt it given that the source is no longer available but even before that the main dev was not keen on taking outside contributions). Anyways, the one developer for this project is not very active, his account hasn't been to this forum since Mar 01, 2019. I would not expect any replies from him.

I have a 1.5 TB music Collection. The default install works perfect for me. I'm even running it on a Raspberry pi 3+. What exactly is not stable? I see the original post is old so perhaps that is a non-issue now. However, I have no issues with the program or the developer. I'm super stoked it's still working, updated and available. Thanks

Could someone kind enough take their time and make a simple step-by-step guide with screenshots to explain http://www.subsonic.org/pages/database.jsp better?
That would be sweets for noobs.

My Stats
6.240 Künstler
20.004 Alben
232.423 Songs
9415,01 GB (~ 19.826 Stunden)

In fact there are round about 270.000 Tracks because Sampler doubles Subsonic don't count and a lot of video. Subsonic is running at W10Pro 24/7 with a lots of Guests and I'm working at it so far every day, new albums, adding cover art, renaming files to my favoured style without any problems.
