Move the now playing info...

Postby DandyDon » Sat Jan 26, 2008 4:30 pm

Not sure if this is a bug, or something that is just happening to me and my users, but here is the problem. The "now playing" area, frame, or whatever you want to call it, displays correctly most of the time, like this:

Until you go to another artist that has many different albums with all the cover art displaying, like this:

As you can see, the cover art blocks the now playing info. This is on a 19 in lcd monitor @ 1024x768 display, but is happening to my users at other resolutions. Is this something I can resolve by a setting in subsonic? If not, would it be possible to change the now playing info to something like this?

Also, I have a custom logo for my site that displays on the login page and at the top (subsonic_white.png), and I have added a small bit of code to the bottom of login.jsp to allow users to request a login to my site, like this:

If you were a member of the original Digital Overdose forum and would like a login, use the link below.
<br>Include your forum Username in the email. All other requests will be ignored, so dont bother.

<br>
<a href="mailto:xxxxxxx@xxx.com?subject=Digital%20Overdose%20Login%20Request"><h3>Login Request</h></a>
</center>
</form>
</body>
</html>

Both are overwritten each time I reboot. Is there a way to prevent this without copying the files again each time?

Thanks Sindre for the great program, and the fast reply getting my license key to me.

Hi Don,

The "Now playing" problem has been fixed in version 3.4.

As for the login.jsp being overwritten, I would like to know if you use the windows version or the war version of Subsonic. Anyway, the war file is really a zip file, so you might try to put the "hacked" login.jsp back into the war file.

Hope this helps,
Sindre

I am using the windows version.

One other thing you may want to consider for the next version for windows, is that Subsonic stores the files in the Windows/Temp directory. I could see this possibly causing problems for users who use 'cleaning' utilities that clean up temp files. The Windows/Temp directory is one of the folders that these apps will delete files from.

Yes, that's a good point. I'll make it configurable. Thanks!

Thanks ! Inserting the modified .jsp files into the .war file did the trick.
