Shared Media in Subsonic

Hi
While I don't use this feature much, i noticed recently that while I share a song and provide the link to my friend, it appears that he could play the song on his PC since its FLASH Compliant, however he cannot use the link to play the song on his mobile device such as ipad and/or latest Android OS. Given that mobile devices no longer support FLASH, i guess you should consider incorporating HTML5 player or any other player that is iOS / Android compliant.

Thoughts?

Thanks

I highly agree. I've noticed some websites now providing the alternate option of playing a media file using HTML5. I'd really like to see incorporation of the option to play shared media from Subsonic using HTML5 audio. Having flash as the only option rules out the vast majority of devices people are using to enjoy their media on these day.

I notice this was requested 4 years ago and didn't even get a reply. Seems like a must feature nowadays though.

Hmmm...

So is there an option available to share media in a HTML5 format. I am receiving more responses from my shared media recipients that they cannot play the media due to the unavailability of flash on their mobile devices. I cannot seem to find any solutions either...unless I have overlooked it.

I am using SS 5.0 running on Windows Server 2008 R2
