Subsonic Forum

I think it would be great to be able to specify folder access per user. For example, I would like to share the music folder with all users on my subsonic server, but I don't want to share my home video folder with all users.

This is supported with Madsonic, which is a "fork" of Subsonic.

I would love to see this as well. I'm running 2 subsonic services to achieve this feature and it's a pain, especially for upgrades.

I'd love this feature too. Mainly to expose certain music for my children that is appropriate.

I wish I knew if this was a coming feature. Madsonic has it but it's still in beta and I don't know if it will work with iSub, etc. I love subsonic so much but to me this is an important missing feature.

This is would be a great feature - i have kids of different ages, and i would like the parental control capability.

I have young kids as well. I was running 2 Subsonic service instances to try and get by while waiting on this feature to be implemented.

I gave up and I moved to Madsonic, Madsonic is awesome I just hope dev continues, not to say that I wouldn't come back if Subsonic finally offered it.

I have an 4 yrs old son and i need this function for him too.

Yeah, this is exactly what I seek. Would be fantastic. Will take a look at Madsonic until this is hopefully implemented in Subsonic.

As far as I'm concerned, this is a requirement for the standard Subsonic server to support video. I will not put any video on it without the ability to control access by user.

I just looked at 4.9beta. This makes NO sense to me on why this feature isn't already implemented, or at least being worked on. Why isn't it???? Very frustrating...

Just to add to the voices: I'm running two Subsonics too simply because of this. This would be a really fantastic feature.

I also ran 2 subsonic services just because of this missing feature. PITB. Madsonic is out of beta now and still working great for me, but I'd still like to try subsonic again.
