Add Sort Options To Playlist Lists

Hello,

I was wondering if it would be possible to add a few more options for control under the playlists category located in the web interface. It lacks the more options drop down that other places have which could work for this section as well. In particular I was looking for a sorting option to allow sorting by artist. So far the only way I've been able to do this was to play the entire playlist and use the more options drop down located here to sort it. Its nice but then if I wanted to save it I have to save it as a new playlist again. I have a few playlists that are getting big and if I was able to sort I would be able to see easier if the track already exists. Maybe even have the ability to shuffle the playlist prior to playing it could be added as well.

This. Definitely! Maybe I'm just OCD but I hate having them not in alphabetical order! It bugs me to make a new playlist and have it at the bottom of the list..away from the grouping it should belong in alphabetically.

Yes, it would be great to have sort options! Personally, I'd prefer them to be sorted by descending date of when the playlist was modified. That way the most recently modified lists would be at the top. But any sort of sorting would be helpful.

Just started using Subsonic and I only miss options for sorting playlists. Alphabetic and/or most recently updated would be great.

I stumbled across a round-a-bout way you can sort playlists by alphabetical order (rather than the date of creation order):

- export each playlist file to your local computer
- delete all the playlists one-by-one
- copy your exported playlist files onto your Subsonic server (On my windows installation they are in a folder called 'playlists' on the C:)
- Under 'Settings', 'Media Folders', select 'Scan media folders now'

The playlists will then be re-imported in alphabetical order.
