New last.fm API info to display player / plugin used

It looks like some functionality has been added to the 'recent tracks' listing on last.fm that will display what is being used to play and/or scrobble the music.

Right now subsonic is reporting as "last.fm player."

It's only an aesthetic change, but I'd sure like to wear my subsonic badge proudly. Think something like this will happen? Or, even better, could we be provided with a variable string that we can set? Not sure if last.fm would like it, but it's a neat idea.

Thanks!

Hi,

I don't see the player info anywhere on last.fm, can you please advice?

By the way, Subsonic is registered with a separate audioscrobbler client ID at last.fm, so they should in theory be able to display the proper player string.

Thanks for reporting it!

Sindre

Sure! For example, I'm streaming from subsonic at this very moment and my page here (http://www.last.fm/user/thatmikeykid) is showing that I'm using the "Last.fm Player" above my recent tracks, which is not correct. I've seen it show combinations such as "Winamp / Audioscrobbler Plugin" or "Windows Media Player / Last.fm Application", so it seems like it can be told to report more correctly for subsonic.. but I don't have the technical ability to see how to modify that.

Hope this helps.
