persistent player settings as a new feature?

i'm using subsonic in many rooms in my home and control it with my pocket pc. my pda acts as a remote control (infrared and web).

unfortunately every time i boot my server or at least tomcat, subsonic lost all the player settings.
reestablishing all the players is a very long-winded job (some devices needs to be controled by vnc...) and could be avoided if the player settings would be persistent.

could this be a new feature?

Hi Dieter,

Player settings (name and max bitrate) are persisted. However, after a restart, only players that are connected are displayed. I'll consider changing it so that all players are displayed.

Interesting to hear that you are using a PDA! Are you using the wap-interface?

Sindre

hi sindre,
yes i'm using the wap interface on the pda (with ms ie). the many frames of the standard interface are to small for the display.
even my wife is using it and we are both happy with it.

i think it would be really helpful if all players are available at startup. with this, it would be possible to start a player entirely from the remote control - coool!

great software!
