It would be great to show a list of who is still currently logged on and the last song they listened to.

It go a long way towards promoting the social aspect of Subsonic.

Subsonic does this already, it shows currently playing songs in the side of the browsing pages. Also you have the status page available, and the Now playing view (which is a bit deceptive). Perhaps if the Now Playing view showed information about who is listening to that album as well as the album name and there was an option to cycle between currently playing albums on either side... I think that would be pretty neat!

It actually doesn't show the users that are logged on if they don't have any current activity. From my experience, once the data stops transferring (once they have buffered the whole file), they disappear from the status page as well as from the side of the browsing pages.

It would be nice if we could see who was logged on, even if they were just browsing and not listening. It would also be nice if we could see the last song the played instead of having the songs disappear once it's done buffering. My connection the serves the content is very fast so we only get to see what people are listening to for a short period of time. If we miss that, we don't even know if they're still at the site or if they've logged off.

...unless I'm missing something (which is very possible)...

Love the program as is though!!

Hi,

I agree that the "Now playing" part could be improved, and I hope to address that in a later release.

Perhaps something like this (just from the top of my head):

Now playing
--------------
zeekay - song A
aphuey - song B (6 minutes ago)
sindre - song C (15 minutes ago)

5 users online: zeekay, aphuey, sindre, foo, bar

That would be perfect!! This is exactly what I was thinking!

I wish I could help with coding or testing, but I'm a novice (more or less) when it comes to programming. I will defnitely donate though. Great work!

That would be a great step toward socializing Subsonic. I currently run a server on which more and more people at my workplace are tuning in to.

The biggest feature request I get is some way in which my co-workers could post comments on about what each other is listening to. Sort of like a Facebook wall. Probably would not be difficult to implement, but I'm not a web app developer.

I'm just doing my part to lower workplace productivity
