Subsonic on *portable* server

Postby sviatapolk » Sun Aug 10, 2014 2:14 pm

I use subsonic daily, streaming from home to my iPhone 5 using the terrific iSub client. I usually cache albums in advance since remote streaming is always an iffy matter.
But of course storage is an issue on my iPhone.

I'm considering buying an Iogear Mediashair hub for my phone and iPad to get more portable storage:

it will allow me to put in an SD card.
But I can't use a subsonic client to access media from the expansion card. I believe you are stuck with iogear's software. And I tried the Seagate Goflex I while back. It really sucked.

So I was wonder if there is any way or could be some way to install the subsonic server app onto one of these portable wifi NAS drives? And then use my iPhone's subsonic client to access the files? The network would be local so it would obviously be faster.
