Hello,
when subsonic will be "adobe flash" player free?
Flash is insecure, why use it as music player?
Best regards.

More than just being insecure, Firefox has begun disabling Flash by default and Chrome probably isn't far behind. Luckily this doesn't affect mobile clients

@gogogo: Flash was probably a very reasonable choice when Subsonic came out. (Whenever that was)
Will Flash get ripped out of the browser interface, or does my webui going to have to go away?

Subsonic relies on JWPlayer to play. JWPlayer contains both a flash and html5 version of the player. Not sure which version changed but with the current release if no flash is found JWPlayer will play using the HTML5 version. At least for me it works alright for music, but doesnt work with video (havent really dug into it much). If you disable flash in your browser of choice you will get the HTML5 version. However if you have firefox and its blocking flash you will not get the other version, as the code to the load the player tries to load the flash version (which is installed) and firefox will block it if its enabled and installed leaving you without a player.

I've deleted flash from my machine and subsonic works fine (in Safari on a mac) and seems to load the html5 player when playing music from my library.
However, when I try to play any shared media (that I've shared with others), no playlist comes up and there's just a "get flash player" message.
Anyone know how I can make the shared media use html5 rather than flash?
This would also be helpful for friends who use iPads and iPhones to access music that I've shared with them.

There have been a few request in the recent past as well as up to 4 years ago inquiring about this issue. I too like to share a song or a few songs to a select group of recipients, but Flash is rapidly fading away from the Android or IOS scene so sharing is out to mobile recipients.
I have seen some HTML compliant Subsonic plugins, but these apps don't resolve the shared media/flash issue.
Cheers..

Aside from modernizing the UI to something plex or kodi like, this is my biggest feature request. And off the top of my head, those are my only two requests. Great software
