Hey Sindre/all,

Using a laptop touchpad to hit the player controls on the bottom on the screen can be pretty frustrating at times... I was just wondering is there was a way for Subsonic to have keyboard shortcuts (play/pause/next/previous) for controlling the web player?

+1 I have wanted this for a long time!

What I really want are global hot keys - keycommands I can use regardless of what application I have focused on my computer. However, since subsonic is a web-based player, I suspect this is impossible to do in the subsonic app proper. But even a Chrome extension to provide subsonic hot keys while Chrome is focused would be awesome.

Would love to have keyboard shortcuts! Great to have global ones (if possible) as I mostly have Subsonic in the background while working.

Getting shortcuts to work with Subsonic in the background is going to be very hard to do without an extension (and there is no method in the official REST API to control the web player). I'd love to have that, but I'd settle happily for having shortcuts while in the foreground!

Mediakey Support via Chrome Extension would be totally awesome.
I use the Subsonic Webfrontend as my main player via Chrome AppMode.

key bindings in the foregrounded web app would be great, I'd also like to be able to control a specific player via the web api, then I could easily control my player from my desktop without having to build out a full subsonic client/player.

(Although I'm pretty sure they will only work in the foreground for now, but eh, at least we'll get some shortcuts!)

That's right. Keyboard shortcuts is coming in 6.0.beta1, planned to be released tomorrow
