Configurable URL in external players created behind proxy

As stated by organon here, external players do not work if you setup Subsonic behind Apache with proxy-config.
I think the possibility to configure which URL the players will be created with would solve the issue?

Maybe there's a relation to the issue with HTTPS/SSL discussed, and solved, here?
