I like the new interface in 6.1, but I get really screwed up by the way the artists are listed. It displays artists in columns, but instead of being alphabetical by column, it's listed alphabetical by row.

Is there a setting somewhere to change this? If not, I think it would make much more sense to have it sorted vertically rather than horizontally.

Has this been implemented yet? Or is there a setting I just haven't found yet?

+1 I want that ordering too.

Settings -> Personal -> "Show index in left sidebar" gives you the vertical listing like you want in the sidebar. Not in the main-Index page though.
