The radio selection was a great added feature I use a lot but I notice its not very smart. I was hoping in future versions of subsonic that this could improve. Most of the time it picks the same few bands and plays tracks from them over and over and also the tracks seem to be at random more than not. Could it also be possible for the tracks it picks from those bands also be set to the more popular tracks the band has by selecting the tracks from the already added top tracks you built? It would be nice to get a more consistent playlist that's created full of music that is known to be a popular pick and space out how often the same artists tracks get selected. I use the feature all the time and this seems like it would help a lot.

My playlist generator at http://subfireplayer.net/radio/ has the ability to create randomized playlists that are built from "top songs" from "similar artists", rather than the default radio implementation, which is to just take all songs from the artist and the immediate similar artists and shuffle them.

is there an api flag to decide this vs the old algorithm, or will the API similarSongs call just do the same? I'm ok either way - just need to know for SubFire and the SubFire radio generator.

Yes, this will affect the getSimilarSongs API, and I didn't add a flag.
