DFF Files

Hello everyone,

I would like to request as a future add on the .dff file support.

At the moment when I add .dff as a music file extension through settings i can play my songs but the song's progress bar is missing and the audio quality is downgraded.

It is very important for me because i have many songs bigger than 500mb with a .dff extension and i really love to listen them.

FFmpeg has support for DSF decoding:

So, I believe it would simply be a matter of tweaking the transcoding (Settings --> Transcoding) to include DSF. Not positive on DFF, though.

Just know that in doing this you'll lose the "benefit" of DSD, as it will be converting it to PCM, but for on-the-go listening, it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah I have already done that, so that's how I am currently playing my .dff files, but this method doesn't solve the no progress bar issue, any idea about that?

Sorry, missed the progress part. It might have something to do with the ffmpeg paramters. I'll see if I can mock one up and play around with it.
