Mobile Freindly Subsonic Web

Postby dzoid » Tue Oct 27, 2020 6:13 pm

Are there any plans for making a more mobile friendly version of Subsonic web front end?

With no stable iOS 14 Subsonic players available a responsive web browser connection would be a nice fall back. The current web offering works. However, the it is very cumbersome on smaller devices like my iPhone SE 2020. A mobile device login would a bonus if possible.

Thanks

http://subfireplayer.net/m2 (or https://subfireplayer.net/m2) is a mobile-friendly web client I have developed.

I have used it regularly on my IOS-12 box. However I have not tested it on the Safari for 14 at all to know how well it handles, and some of the more app-like (PWA) features are only available on Chrome for Android. Also, it was written in material-ui so look-and-feel wise, it is more designed to look like an Android app.

play:Sub is working gloriously on my iPhone XS, iOS14.1 - no issues.

If play:Sub is working for you in iOS14.x I'm happy for you. After my upgrade it wasn't playing nice. I deleted it and installed it again. Now when I attempt to enter a new server it crashes instantly.

I'm stuck with the web client and it is not mobile browser friendly in the least and the subsonic experience suffers.

Subsonic is long over due for a mobile web friendly update.

If you have not done so I highly recommend contacting play:Sub's developer.
