Album art search

Postby fluke » Wed May 27, 2009 12:46 pm

Searching Amazon and Discogs is not always finding the right, or more often not any album art at all. If I remove / alter the album name or artist sometimes it works, but if not I have to go to Google picture search to find it and copy/paste the picture link. Which after all is a nice function though.

May it be possible to include Google picture search in the application?

I think google image search would be a great enhancement to the current album search!

It would help already if it was possible to choose the TLD for amazon. I've got quite a lot of lesser known austrian artists in my collection which only show up on amazon.de but not amazon.com. So the cover search doesn't find any images altough there would be hits on amazon.de.

Maybe someone can just tell me in which file i should replace amazon.com with amazon.de? I did a "grep -e" in the subsonic folder and got way to much hits for a non coder guy like me! ;-)

I definatly agree with adding Google image search to the list of places to search for album art. I've added all the album art I can with Amazon and Discogs and now I'm manually going through finding the albums that don't have album art and searching Google. 99 times out of 100, I am finding the correct album cover within the first 10 results!
