New feature requests

I'm using Subsonic for quite a while now. Friends and familie are very enthousiastic about it. De subsonic server is mostly used for playing and listening music.

My users notice that in the version 3.7b the download picture album "amazon" is gone. With chatting is is difficult to see who is online. Then the feature messes up the interface. We advise to find an other way to present the chat function (swith the playlist with the chat funtion for example).

Future requests from me and the users:
- Mix function: end and the start of the song;
- Volume leveling feature (every song playing has the same level - very handy with parties).

Thanks on behalf of all my users!

you can use MP3Gain to normalize your mp3s http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/

:wink:

I'm going to have a look at it. Still it would be nice to integrate this feature within Subsonic.

MP3Gain probably works fine on mp3's. But if you have a mix of mp3's and flac's, then MP3Gain will not help you much.

Thats right with mp3 Gain....but what about the mix-modus?

I thought replaygain was only an attribute in the MP3 file. Does JWplayer (the flash client that streams the music) take this into account, or does the transcoding process done by lame.exe and all the other transcoders take the replaygain into account and apply it directly to the MP3 data during conversion?
