Better control over who can see other users' IDs

Postby mudsharkymon » Wed Oct 28, 2009 4:50 pm

I just discovered that even guests can see the "USERS" page that shows not only how much data each user is sucking up but also the other users' login names!

Not that I personally mind the graphs being available to everybody but I do not like non-admin users seeing other login IDs.

Some ideas (not knowing how difficult each one may be to implement):
1- Non-admins may see the graph but the only ID showing is their own
2- Eliminate the display names from the chart
3- Don't show the graphs to non-admins

Or in addition to the user id & password there should be a Nickname/Real name field. Then that could be used to display in such places.

And when we are at it. In the personal page there should be a place for people to type in their email address. This could then be used to send passwords to users who have forgotten their passwords, but can remember their user id, or email address.

Also the email addresses could be used to send out messages from the administrators for scheduled maintenance or other info.

And maybe for those that subscribe to it, Subsonic could send emails about newly added music.

I agree...I like your ideas. The email notifications would be nice.
