Subsonic Forum

Comments on albums are stored in the database. If I move an album to another place, the comment gets lost, as subsonic is not able to track my moved album.

It would be nice, if we also could put comments on an album by putting a specific text-file into the folder, e.g. "comment.txt" or "album_review.txt" or whatever and this would be shown by subsonic (or imported during searchindex-build.

I second this request. It would be great if subsonic could import a comment.txt or review.txt file as comments.

I have a large number of live shows, almost all of which include a .txt file that describes the show. It would be WONDERFUL if I could somehow let users be able to see those .txt files. Users would then be able to read about the shows and know which songs are included and when and where it was recorded.
This would be a great asset. If Subsonic did something like looked in a folder for a .txt file or a comment.txt file and displayed the contents of the file into the comments section.

Also show a tracks comment ID tag contents as a hover over balloon text within the web browser.

I have requested this previously and am anxiously waiting for this to be implemented. I use Tag & Rename which creates the album review in a text file for each album.

It would be fantastic to have this text file show up as comments.

It would be FANTASTIC to be able to automatically load these .txt files into the comments field so that listeners would be able to know the songs and basic info about the shows.

I'm just giving this a bump... I recently re-organized my now even larger music collection and I am having to go album by album, show by show restoring the Comments section that is now blank for each Album/Show.... With over 7,000 folders this is a very long task... Each Album has a text file that describes the contents... stuff like when a recording was made, where etc. It would be absolutely incredible if Subsonic could read the Comments.txt file or Info.txt file and simply copy the contents to the Comments section.

I'm just hoping for this as I have been working for weeks now evenings and weekends and am partially through the letter "C" in my list of shows.
