Hey,

In my music collection i got a lot of karaoke songs. It would be awesome if subsonic would be able to play the .CDG files.

There are a lot of other feature requests out there that are way more important than this one. But if you finish all those, will you please implement this one? :D

this may already be possible through the use of the transcoding feature.

If lame (or ffmpeg, or ...) supports the .CDG files you could simply setup a transcoder for CDG -> MP3 and voila it will play.

If you can provide a sample .CDG file I'd be happy to test this out for you.

I don't know if you know how these karaoke files work... but i don't think it's possible using just the transcoding function.

You need 2 files to play a song, one is a simple mp3 with the music (without the voice of course) and the cdg file is some kind of video, with the song text scrolling by.

I can't reach my collection at the moment, so i can't provide you with files. If you still think it's possible with the transcoding function, ill hapily give you a file after the weekend.

thx for the response :)
