Manipulate playlists by album (on ALL players)

I would very much like to be able to manipulate playlists by album instead of just track. The recently posted frontend in the Mods board shows a good example.

I would like to be able to:
o Collapse playlists to show the list of albums, and expand individual albums out to tracks

o Re-order playlists by moviing albums.

o Delete an album from the playlist.

For these purposes I suppose an "Album" could be any sequence of tracks where the Album attribute is the same.
