Android Streaming is Getting Worse

With the last version, Android streaming is getting worse. Songs are constantly restarting while I try to listen to them. It's very embarrassing when I'm trying to show someone a song and I can't even get through it - makes Android look pretty bad.

There HAS to be a better way then the current method of streaming. There are a few podcast apps out there (not listen, but stitcher I believe) that have rock solid streaming. You can see the progress of the buffering and even seek within incomplete buffers. No hiccups, not random restarts, no hassle.

There MUST be a better way, and if there is not then who at Google do we need to contact to fix the bug in the Android streaming player?

Let's get this solved once and for all - PLEASE.

I've seen posts from people running cooked 2.2 ROMs that say this issue is fixed in Froyo, but no telling when that will be released for my phone. It won't be released at all for some phones.

A fix/work-around for 2.1 and lower sure would be nice, but I'm not going to complain much considering the Android client was free. :)

I'm running the latest client on an HTC Incredible with stock 2.1, and I'm not having any streaming issues.

a song skipping/restarting on a handheld device is embarrassing for you? Good grief.

I am running CyanogenMod 6 RC1 (Froyo FRF91 2.2) on my Nexus One. The skipping/restarting has disappeared on my device. The app isnt bug free however, but alot of the streaming/restarting issues are gone.

I am on T-mobile, in Sarasota, FL (T-mobile sucks here).

http://www.cyanogenmod.com/ - Unleash the beast, if its supported :D

Songs restarting completely instead of resuming where it should when it's "skipping" is most likely dependant on the encoding of the song. Not the app.

I've had this on a few select albums, but overall most my stuff works just fine and I havent bothered to research why it does it and what encoding settings that should be avoided...
