How about Now playing updates to Twitter and Facebook like the last.fm one.
iSub has a twitter update that works great

Certainly doesn't sound like a BAD idea.

Although I don't know how Twitter\Facebook would like being updated every 3-5 minutes, lol.

I think the API rule is not more than 1 per min.

not sure about Facebooks API rules.

Actually, what I'd like better is if it posted every time I added a new album so my friends would know when there's new music on the server.

This I like, I always post my new albums in the chatbox, but that requires them to log on before the chat gets deleted. yes they can always click the "new" button but this is cooler
